《解説》「オリベには型破りで自由奔放というイメージがあります。造形というよりその自由な精神こそがオリベではないか。僕の作陶は志野がメインですが、その伝統的な重みを大切にしたいと思っています。ですから、今回お話を頂いて、志野でオリベを表現するのならどこまで自由にできるか考えました。やはり所謂織部焼ほどダイナミックな歪みまでいくと、志野ではなくなってしまうようで、その重みをどこまで表現できるかがこの作品のポイントになりました。」

　志野は元々オリベ的だが、山田さんの尺度では、これをもっと自由に発展させたのがオリベということのようだ。だから、志野で織部的な形をつくるのでは少し違う。そこで選んだのが割高台。志野には「朝陽」という古作があり、しかも割高台は織部が愛した高麗茶碗のひとつでもある。志野には織部の作意が影響しているが、「朝陽」は優美かつ上品でどちらかというと織部的ではない。作家はこの作品を「朝陽」から発展させたというが、そのダイナミックな造形とアクセントのある釉調は本歌以上に織部的だ。作家は常々絵を描くことなく釉調でそれと同じ効果を出すことにこだわる。この作品では、鉄釉をうまく掛け分けることで、器表に変化に富んだ「絵」を実現している。見込みの掛け残しの部分は、まるでこれから満ちていこうとする「十三夜月」を見るように幻想的だ。

《志野と割高台(shino and warikoudai)》The distortion of Mino pottery in Momoyama period (about 1600 in japan) starts from Seto black. Although it is a semi-cylindrical shape, it is slightly out of proportion, and it develops into Oribe black, which is more broken, and Shino, which expresses the subtle distortion in a white bowl. Guessing from the production age, it is highly possible that Oribe was involved in Shino. Before the appearance of green glazes and climbing kilns, Shino was one of Oribe's favorite expressions. On the other hand, the tea bowls in ancient koria tells us that Oribe preferred the tea bowls “divided pedestal”. One of the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Arts is a typical example of this. Mr. Yamada expressed Shino and “divided pedestal” in one cup.

《志野と割高台(shino et warikoudai)》La distorsion de la poterie Mino dans la période Momoyama (envers 1600 au japon) commence à partir du Setonoir. Bien qu'elle soit de forme semi-cylindrique, la forme est légèrement disproportionnée, et elle se développe en Oribenoir qui est plus faussé, et Shino qui exprime la distorsion subtile au bol blanc. À en juger par l'âge de production, il est bien possible qu'Oribe y ait été impliqué. Avant l'avènement des émails verts et des fours à grimper, Shino était l'une des expressions préférées d'Oribe. D'autre part, les bols à thé de l'ancienne corée nous dit qu'Oribe y préférait au “piédestal divisé”. Le musée commémoratif des beaux-arts de Hatakeyama en est un exemple typique. M. Yamada a exprimé Shino et “piédestal divisé” dans une coupe.
